Working Groups
Call for Working Groups
Working groups are open collectives with specific targeted objectives achievable in a relatively short timeline. If you want to open a working group please contact the ISMC chairs.
Soil pollutant transport and fate modelling
This working group deals with pollutant transport and fate modelling in soils
Soil Intelligence Working Group
The Soil Intelligence Working Group is a community of researchers, modelers and data scientists who are working to accelerate the adoption of model-based, AI-assisted and data-driven methods in soil science.
Teaching and Dissemination
This working group will focus on teaching and dissemination activities and is organized by early career researchers from different continents and backgrounds
Mathematics of Soil Processes
The working group aims to develop a manuscript on the current state of soil modeling with a specific focus on Earth's water, carbon, nutrient and energy cycles.
Pedotransfer functions and land surface parameterization
Bringing together international experts working on pedotransfer functions and land surface parametrization in different disciplines such as soil sciences, climate, and crop modelling
Thermal properties
Towards improved descriptions of thermal soil properties, and related global parameter sets, for land surface models.
Global Soil Carbon Modeling
This working group on Global Soil Carbon Modeling aims to bring together international experts working on soil carbon modeling to examine the soil carbon potential of global soils.
Soil systems in agro-ecological modelling
This working group links the soil modelling and the plant/crop modelling communities, in particular ISMC with AgMIP and MACSUR and resulting spin-off activities from these networks.
Comparison of root architecture and water uptake models
This working group aims to quantitatively compare models of root architecture and function.
Biophysics and soil structure
This working group on biophysics and soil structure aims to bring together international experts working on biophysics and soil structure
