Vacancy: Post-Doctoral Systems Modeller
Applications are invited for a Systems Modeller based at Rothamsted Research – North Wyke to work on the project “modelling and managing critical zone relationships between soil, water and ecosystem processes across the Loess Plateau” jointly funded by the Newton Fund Programme and NFSC.
The post holder will maintain and develop models on the relationships between soil, water and ecosystem processes in the critical zone at various spatial scales, data analysis and write-up.
The successful candidate will hold a PhD in an appropriate science discipline and will be
a highly motivated researcher with mathematical and programming skills. Experience of working in object-oriented programming languages, especially C++, and an awareness of broader context of agricultural and environmental change are essential.
The appointee will need to be flexible enough to travel to China for site visits. Attendance at conferences overseas will also be encouraged.
This fixed term 3 year post is full time and has a starting salary normally in the range of £29,842 to £32,315 per annum.
