Junior researcher / MSc student at Italy
We are looking for a junior researcher to support our research activities within the ECOPOTENTIAL project (<http://www.ecopotential-project.eu>). ECOPOTENTIAL is a large European-funded H2020 project that focuses
its activities on a targeted set of internationally recognised Protected Areas, blending Earth Observations from remote sensing and field measurements, data analysis and modelling of current and future ecosystem conditions and services. We provide satellite-derived environmental information for many of the protected sites in mountain ecosystems and aim to understand how this information can be used to better understand spatial pattern and temporal changes in biodiversity in the view of climate change. The junior researcher should support this objective by analyzing the impact of snow and vegetation phenology on chamois population dynamics in the Gran Paradiso National Park (Italy) following the ECOPOTENTIAL storyline (<http://www.ecopotential-project.eu/site-studies/storylines.html?id=120>).
The work is fully supported by the Gran Paradiso National Park and will be carried out in close collaboration with the scientific team of the park (<http://www.pngp.it/en>).

Postdoctoral Researcher in Fate and Transport of Phosphorus at Maryland, USA
The Department of Environmental Science and Technology at the University of Maryland seeks candidates for a multi-year postdoctoral research associate position on fate and transport of phosphorus in agricultural landscapes. The initial appointment will be for 1-year with the possibility of extension based on performance.
POSITION SUMMARY: The successful candidate will lead a project investigating the cycling and transport of phosphorus from crop production systems in Maryland. Specific duties of this position will include investigating phosphorus losses via surface (and sub-surface) transport pathways from several edge-of-the-field on-farm sites across the state. Sites will be instrumented with H-flumes, ISCO auto-samplers, flow meters, and rain-gauges. The candidate will collect and analyze water, soil, and sediments samples from field sites for various chemical and isotope analyses of phosphorus using Isotope Ratio Mass Spectrometry, Lachat QuickChem 8500 FIA, and others.
