Earth Research Scientist, LBNL, Berkeley, USA
Lawrence Berkeley National Lab’s (LBNL) Earth and Environmental Sciences Area (EESA) has an interdisciplinary opportunity for a career-track Earth Research Scientist to join the team.
In this exciting role, you will work with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), state of California, and other environmental science communities in improving the access and usability of their datasets and facilitating data integration through community engagement and adoption of (meta)data standards. The project will involve working with the DOE’s environmental science community as well as the broader earth science informatics community (e.g. NCEAS, AGU, RDA, ESIP) to enable curation and public archiving of data that are FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable) and scientifically useful. We seek talented individuals with training in earth and environmental sciences, and a strong aptitude for and interest in data management and data science. HPC Geosciences Postdoc, LBNL, Berkeley, USA
Lawrence Berkeley National Lab’s (LBNL) Energy Geosciences Division has an opening for an HPC Exascale Postdoc with expertise in numerical modeling of pore-scale and micro-continuum reactive flow and transport to join the team.
In this exciting role, you will work with PIs Carl Steefel and Sergi Molins to develop, implement, and applynovel software tool sets to analyze subsurface processes of fracture opening and healing and fracture interaction with the rock matrix. The tool sets must be executable on high performance computing architectures. You will be part of a team of computational geoscientists and researchers developing the next generation of high-resolution high performance computing (HPC) tools. Deadline:N/A See link for details:

Postdoctoral Researcher, Sustainable Groundwater Management, Oregon State University, USA
Department of Biological and Ecological Engineering, Oregon State University, Corvallis, Oregon, USA seeks to hire a Full-Time 12-month postdoc (renewable for a second year based on satisfactory performance). The Postdoc will develop a pretreatment engineering device for stormwater, floodwater, or recycled wastewater treatment applicable to managed aquifer recharge (MAR) operations across Oregon and California. This research aims to develop low-cost pretreatments for MAR sites to mitigate clogging and reduce contaminant loads. In addition, this USDA-NIFA-funded project will examine the independent and joint use of Ag-MAR and drywells with pretreatments (to remove sediments and contaminants) to overcome the limitations of both approaches synergistically, thereby increasing groundwater sustainability and the long-term viability of irrigated agriculture.
Deadline:May 30.
