Computational Scientist - Earth System Science, Oak Ridge National Laboratory, USA
We are seeking an outstanding Computational Scientist for the Computational Earth Sciences group in the Computational Science and Engineering Division (CSED) to accelerate development of the US Department of Energy’s (DOE’s) Energy Exascale Earth System Model (E3SM) on the world’s largest supercomputing platforms.  In conjunction with the related Exascale Computing Project (ECP) effort, the successful candidate will design and develop advanced numerical methods, algorithms and software tools for achieving optimal performance that leverage accelerator-based supercomputing platforms (e.g., Summit, Frontier, Aurora, and Perlmutter). CSED focuses on transdisciplinary computational science and analytics at scale to enable scientific discovery across the physical sciences, engineered systems, and biomedicine and health. It develops community applications, data assets, and technologies and provides assurance to build knowledge and impact in novel, crosscut-science outcomes. see link of details

Postdoctoral Research Scientist, Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory, USA
The Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory (LDEO) of Columbia University invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Scientist to work with us on an exciting new project studying biosphere-atmosphere exchange of carbon and biogenic VOCs along urban-to-rural gradients. Specifically, we are exploring how the unique characteristics of urban landscapes (e.g., urban heat island, forest fragmentation, air pollution, invasive species) modulate the ecological processes that influence atmospheric chemistry (https://atmoscomp.ldeo.columbia.edu/research-projects/urban-composition-chemistry-new-york-city). This research includes both modeling and field work. Modeling components of this project include scaling up biogenic carbon and VOC fluxes from ecosystem to regional scales using remote sensing products, etc.
This position will support the research of Drs. Roisin Commane and Andy Reinmann. This position is based jointly at LDEO in Palisades, New York, and the CUNY Advanced Science Research Center in New York City. Postdoctoral Researchers have PI status at LDEO and are encouraged to submit proposals to Federal funding agencies to begin their research career. The search will remain open for at least 30 days after the ad appears and will continue until the position is filled. Start date is flexible but Summer 2021 would be ideal. See link of details

Phd Position in Soil Modeling, University of Florida, USA
I'm looking for a PhD student! Interested in applying computational methods to issues of climate change? Ever wondered about how soils are related to climate? Research is highly collaborative and focuses on the intersection of data, biogeochemistry, climate, and computation.
Please contact directly to Kathe Todd-Brown for more information: kathe.toddbrown@essie.ufl.edu
Postdoc position ,German Centre for Integrative Biodiversity Research, Germany

We are seeking innovative thinkers with a strong quantitative background and who are interested in
addressing ecological change at large spatial scales. Qualifications for the position include a PhD in project- related field, experience in biodiversity analysis and inference, and an interest in developing a career in science. You should have prior experience in analysing biodiversity occurrence or abundance and an interest in traversing both (semi-)structured (e.g. BBS, BioTime, PREDICTS, eBird) and unstructured data (e.g. GBIF, iNat). We seek a colleague with expertise in statistical modelling in the context of biodiversity-change data, ideally with experience in project-relevant techniques such as spatiotemporal modelling, predictive modelling, hierarchical Bayesian modelling, and/or Bayesian updating. We expect a good command of an open-source programming language (e.g. R, Julia, Python), and experience in/willingness to adopt version control (Git) and FAIR/reproducible data and code. The preferred candidates will be proactive and independent, results-oriented with attention to detail, and have excellent team skills. To discuss the position, please get in touch with Carsten Meyer and Jonathan Chase (carsten.meyer@idiv.de
& jonathan.chase@idiv.de), including a brief overview of your preferred area of research. See link for details:

Postdoctoral Associate, Stony Brook University, US
Seeking a postdoc familiar with the marine carbonate system for an interdisciplinary project in the emerging field of ocean carbon dioxide removal (ocean CDR) and negative emissions technologies (NETs) that aims to mitigate ocean acidification while decreasing the atmospheric carbon dioxide concentration. The postdoc will help evaluate an electrochemical process that enables local adjustment and control of seawater carbonate chemistry. They will be part of an interdisciplinary team of marine scientists and engineers who will evaluate the process and use measurements and modeling of local seawater chemistry to verify safe operation. In addition, they will work closely with stakeholders and partners in related industries with the goal of commercialization at the end of the two year project. Deadline June 18 2021, See link of details
