Tenure-Track Faculty Position, University of Florida, Florida, US
The Department of Geological Sciences at the University of Florida, College of Liberal Arts and Sciences invites applications for a full-time, nine-month, tenure-accruing position at the rank of Assistant Professor, beginning August 16, 2021. We invite applicants in all areas of observational, theoretical and computational geosciences who specialize in using artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) in their research. We particularly encourage applicants in the areas of natural hazards, climate change, solid Earth geophysics, remote sensing, or allied Earth system fields. The Geological Sciences department at UF has developed a strong expertise in high-performance numerical computing of Earth System dynamics, providing an ideal context for future work and collaborations involving AI/ML research in the Earth Sciences. Soil Microbial Ecology & Carbon Cycling Postdoc, Los Alamos National Laboratory, New Mexico, US
A position is available in a research program focused on microbial carbon cycling and climate feedbacks in terrestrial ecosystems. The program uses meta-‘omic strategies to investigate how natural variation in microbial composition can drive large, persistent variation in carbon flow from plant litter decomposition. PhD position in agro-ecosystem modelling, Leibniz Centre for Agricultural Landscape Research, Germany
Opening for a highly motivated person to start a PhD in an interdisciplinary team on a 65% TVL E13 salary scale at Leibniz Centre for Agricultural Landscape Research (ZALF). The main objective of the position is to develop a modelling approach to simulate biophysical processes in novel diversified cropping systems.
