Senior Post-Doctoral Position in Soil Physics, Germany
The full-time position is initially offered for 3 years, extendable after evaluation for up to 3 years, starting as early as possible. The Chair of Soil Physics aims at the understanding and characterization of mass and energy fluxes in soils, including the non-linear feedbacks between plants, soil ecology and soil chemistry. Deadline Oct 31, 2022. See link for details https://www.uni-bayreuth.de/job-vacancy-keyword-soil-physics-5b3ea43c62abf3a6

Postdoc position at University of Kansas in watershed modeling, USA
The University of Kansas is pleased to announce a postdoctoral research opportunity to contribute towards improving predictions of aquatic biological community responses to conservation actions in intensively managed agricultural watersheds. The postdoctoral researcher will work with the latest version of the Soil Water and Assessment Tool (SWAT+) to develop watershed models, incorporate new aquatic biogeochemical processes into the SWAT source code and identify regional differences in parameterization and sensitivity across the models. To apply, submit requested application materials at https://employment.ku.edu/staff/23620BR. Application review begins November 1, 2022 and will continue until position is filled. KU is an EO/AAE, full policy http://policy.ku.edu/IOA/nondiscrimination.

PhD position - at the Forschungszentrum Jülich, Germany
In a current project we are aiming to model a forest ecosystem based on long-term and
experimental data. In general, nutrient cycling in forest ecosystems includes nutrient
inputs (litter production and decomposition, atmospheric deposition, weathering of
primary minerals), nutrient uptake and storage in vegetation, changes of nutrient
speciation, and nutrient export (leaching from soil, gaseous transfers). We will therefore
develop a holistic model able to cope with the water and nutrient fluxes, storage and
release of C, N, and P, and forest growth. The new model will be an extension of AgroC,
developed in the institute, to simulate forest stands. The job will be advertised until the position has been successfully filled.
